Yesterday, after my Mrktng. Mgt class at 4pm, I went to Kaka’s house in Doña Vicenta Village (@ the back of Nanay Bebeng) to attend the consultation on which I have scheduled a week ago.
When I arrived, I signed the attendance sheet and one of the staff handed me a rolled poster and a potato chips. I observed first before entering. There were only few people of about 20-30persons comfortably sitting. Some are eating their potato-chips while others are talking with their friends. I find my place at the back since most of the early comers were sitting infront.
Almost half an hour of waiting when Kaka came. It was around 5pm and the clouds outside are getting darker as if it want to explode coz’ of too heavy to hold on.
When Kaka started speaking, everyone pays attention as if like a master is talking in front. Kaka introduced himself. About of where he graduated his degree. About his father’s endeavors. The plans of his family on the coming years.
The Kaka that I’m refering to is the Chief of Staff of Congressman of the 1st District of Davao City and the son of House Speaker Prospero Nograles, he is Atty. Karlo Nograles.
According to him, all are invited for the consultation. If you/your community are benificiary of the Oplan K- Advocacy Projects (Oplan Kalsada, Oplan Kaalam, Oplan Kabuyahan, Oplan Kalusugan, Oplan Kalikasan, Oplan Kalinaw, Oplan Kahayag, Oplan Kamao ng Kabataan and Oplan Kalamboan sa Barangay), then you are welcome in the consultation.
His speech took for about an hour. The main point, his plan to continue what his father had started. To serve their constituents of the 1st District of Davao City. To be a public servant. Kaka announced that he will be running for the 2010 May election as Congressman of 1st district of Davao City.
It’s not my first time to meet Atty. Karlo. I have once worked with him during the NYD 2006 here in Davao as host city. He was a member of the Finance Committee together with other prominent individuals in the city.
I see him as a good person with a heart of service to the people. I too has been a recipient to some of their programs. Oplan Kaalam, is aiding high school and college students who belongs to the first district in their school fees. Though it’s not that much but at least it could lessen a little the expenses of every parents. It is many to mention all the hardworks and sincere service of Kaka and his father. I had have witnessed, heard and experienced that belonging to the first district, with the hands of these men, progress had be seen and will be seen more.
According to him, it is now the time that the people would unite again. Fight for what is right and believe for the future is in good hands. He is asking for the support not just morally, but of putting them in the position again that is by voting them on the coming election in May 2010.
To kaka and his family, rest assured of my full support and count in my vote. I will encourage also the other people especially the young people of my age. To go out and vote! Our Kaka!
