The Holy Cross of Davao College (HCDC), is an Archdiocesan college institution and the Ignatian Institute of Religious Education Foundation (IIREF) holds the 2nd Exercise in Inter-Religious Dialogue between Christians and Muslims last April 17, 2008 at the HCDC CYO Gym.
It is an annual religious lecture about understanding Islam. This year’s theme focus on the “Islam and Civil Society: Prospects and Challenges in Southeast Asia”
Prof. Nur Fadhil Lubis, Ph.D. was the resource speaker on the said lecture. He teaches at the State Institute of Islamic Studies in medan, Sumatra, Indonesia. He received his Master of Arts and Doctorate in Islamic Studies at the University of California, Los Angeles .
Present in the said lecture was the representatives from the different peace advocates, students and other groups interested in inter-religious dialogue. Also, Fr. Pedro Lamata, ACEID Director was present in the lecture. The open forum was facilitated by Fr. William J. malley, S.J., IIREF Executive Secretary.
